Competitive diferentials

Santa Catarina, a business booster state

Importing through the ports of Santa Catarina can be much more advantageous than through other ports in Brazil. This is because the state government maintains a tax incentive program for imports that reduces ICMS costs by more than 80%, in relation to imports by other states. It is called DTT – Differentiated Tax Treatment.

Check out some of the incentives that Santa Catarina offers:

Differentiated Tax Treatment (TTD)

This tax regime, developed in the Tributary Administration System (SAT), is responsible for managing concessions of special regimes for specific sectors established in Santa Catarina, developed with the objective of promoting investments and moving income related to port activities in the state. which allows reassessments related to the payment of taxes – such as suspension, deferral, exemption or adaptations for the fulfillment of ancillary obligations.

ICMS reduction

One of the benefits that most attracts the attention of commercial importing companies is the special regime that makes it possible to reduce the Tax on the Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS). Santa Catarina allows the collection of a percentage of the full ICMS required in the other states of the country, which varies according to the category of imported products.

Active Ports

Another Santa Catarina differential in the field of foreign trade is the extensive port activity operating in the state. Currently, there are 5 active ports in Santa Catarina, located in the cities of Itapoá, Navegantes, Itajaí, Imbituba and São Francisco do Sul – being the state with the largest number of active ports in the country. They are strategically located on the coast of Santa Catarina, allowing connection with the regular lines of the main port cities in the world. This great potential for transactions makes it possible to expand commercial horizons and guarantees a competitive advantage among companies in the field.

Itapoá, one of the main port terminals in the country

With great expertise in structured operations, Clif operates with an industrial and business vision, which makes it possible to achieve the integrated and complete logistics necessary for the supply chain of its customers and partners. This operation is carried out in one of the most agile ports in Brazil, Porto Itapoá, which is among the largest container port terminals in the country. Privately managed, it has a structure capable of handling 1.2 million TEUs per year and is on its way to the final stage of its expansion, which will enable the handling of 2 million TEUs annually. Maritime lines and the main global shipowners call Itapoá

Itapoá has been standing out in Santa Catarina for many reasons, mainly due to its proximity to large industrial centers, in addition to other ports and airports in the southern region.

Santa Catarina Customs Logistics Center closest to the main Brazilian airports

Clif’s main advantage is its strategic location. Located in the north of the state, the region attracts customers from airports in the south and southeast, looking to nationalize their cargo in Santa Catarina. In addition, we have a record release time in the segment for loads with parameterization in the green channel, with an average of 6 hours from the presence of a load to release and loading.

Connected to the largest city in the state

Itapoá is less than 50 minutes from Joinville, the most populous city in Santa Catarina and responsible for the highest GDP in the state. Joinville is a very important logistics center in the south of Brazil, the city has access to two roads, an airport and is recognized worldwide for the leadership of some of its companies, especially in the sectors of metallurgy, metal-mechanics and plastics.

At the same pace at which it grows economically, Joinville invests in innovation and prepares itself technologically to accompany the development of sectors such as industry and services. Recently, Joinville was among the ten best prepared Brazilian cities to receive 5G technology. The “5G Friendly Cities” ranking was carried out by Conexis Brasil Digital, an entity that represents telecommunications and connectivity companies, and was released by the Federal Government.
